How to Optimize Internal Web Pages for Ranking and Ads

Page Optimazation

Internal Optimization means on-page optimization that you should take into consideration while writing your internal web pages. This is one thing you have complete control over. Besides, it has a major effect on the ads relevancy and CTR.

Meta Tags

Meta Keywords: They have low impact, BUT - they DO have impact over the ads relevancy. You are advised not to leave this part of your page as blank. Always try to make it as easy as possible for the crawlers to understand your website. Create your web page with Meta keywords. If there is NO CONTENT on your webpage, the Adsense Media bot will pick-up the Meta Tags, and show ads according to that. Search on Google for pages that top the SERPs for the keyword you have in mind. These websites will give you a good idea about what to include in Meta Tags.

Meta Description: Whatever you put in the description meta tag, it will appear as description right after the Title Text that links to your page in the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages). This property of the description meta tag makes it quite important, as it has direct impact over the CTR of your link in the SERPs that leads to your website. It eventually decides how much traffic you will get from a search engine. Write description that attracts right kind of traffic from search engine pages.

Title Text

Search Engines give importance to the keywords that appear in the title tag of HTML Source code. Title has
a good impact over relevancy of ads too. For higher payouts, choose the highest paying keyword of that category for the title text.

However, this entirely depends upon your optimization strategy. If you are more concerned about competition and getting more traffic than payouts, choose a keyword with low competition keyword (competition you can handle) with relatively higher traffic. Though, I will advise you to get more traffic first, and become authority page of that keyword. Payouts will increase with the traffic.

Tip: Title text generally appears in the SERPs as TITLE link to your page. In other words, you can say, this very line controls the CTR of your website link listed in SERPs. How you design your title is entirely your own decision.

If you are optimizing it for more traffic, you will not want your title to read as it was written for Search Engine crawlers. The title has to be concise so much so that even 10 words are considered as too many. If you are optimizing it for more payouts - Go ahead! However, you can try to mix the high paying keywords with traffic attractor keywords too.

Give Headings

Its quite important to mark the main headline of your webpage with H1 tags and subheadings with H2 and H3 tags, and so on. This is because headings highlight and indicate the most important element of your web page - the actual content. It is important to use relevant keywords in headings and sub headings as these have good impact on rankings - especially when sorted by relevancy. This has an equally good impact on the ads appearing on your web page. Headings give prominence to the content on your web pages.

Again, you can use these headings either to optimize for traffic, fighting competition, or getting more payouts.

Embedding Keywords in the Content

Besides hosting useful and genuine content on your web pages, it’s important to include keywords at the beginning and end of an article. This helps search engines and Ad bots determine the theme of the web page. Good use of keywords help the Google Mediabot achieve higher Ad-relevancy for your website. Some people follow a strategy of hosting less content on a web page. This helps focus ads on specific keywords and avoids dilution of ads by other keywords that you may have mentioned even once in the web content. This works when you are optimizing for Adsense, but has some traffic drawbacks too. Furthermore, Google may consider it as SPAM. Therefore, it's never advised to host 2 or 3 lines and expect good earnings. Chances are that you will be hit by smart pricing.

On the other hand, don’t make lengthy web pages as it might mislead Ad-bots to get some wrong ads, resulting in dilution of relevant ads. Sometimes, Ad bots can be very sticky to a certain keyword you used just for a reference. If you are getting irrelevant ads, changing meta tags and Title text is the first thing to start with, then move on to your content.

Internal Linking

Internal linking of web pages has traffic as well as Adsense importance. As all your link partners may not link all the pages of your website, it's the responsibility of your web pages to hyperlink your other pages, and define the crawlers what your pages are about. In the context of Adsense, suggesting related links (related articles) to the visitor will also increase the page views of your website and also the chances of the visitors clicking on the high paying ads.

A website must interlink its pages. This can be done by displaying related articles or linking to pages with proper anchor text. This helps increase the importance of most web pages. Even a simple navigation bar can achieve that purpose.

Increasing Penetration

Write articles with more headings and subheadings. This not only makes your content more readable and user friendly, but also help the Ad Bots (and Crawlers too) to properly recognize the theme of your web page. This will make them serve you the most relevant ads. This trick also gives you another chance to mention more of those keywords in your web page. Try to include as many instances where you can specify keywords to the bots. This will have impact on your CTR and EPC. It will also help you get the target traffic. Target traffic will mean more CTR of your web page and better performance.

Check Out Our New Site eSmokem

We have high hopes for this site esmokem.com  It should prove to be a pretty good revenue stream. We are in the SEO work, kinda moving out of sync on this one.

E Cigarettes are electronic smokes that look, taste and smoke like your conventional cigarette without the tar, second hand smoke, ashes etc. You do get a satisfying smoke with or without nicotine.

We are adding several brands as we gain affiliations with the distributers. They are pretty popular, people (at least around here) are just beginning to hear about them. Were looking for a good response and are adding different brands as the become available to us.

Another New Site

Here is another site we recently built. It really was'nt a big business decision but more of
a... DAMN " NewYorkButcherShoppe.com is not taken? I also have "TheNewYorkButcherShoppe.com"
and NewYorkButcherShop.com" they all point to the above. I just think they are great .com names and they have some really fantastic affiliates programs to populate them with. NYBS has an exotic meats page, a sauces page and kitchen utencils and equipment page etc. Of course its been indexed and I tested some PPC and we get a decent click through.
Go look and suggest. I want to improve this site, I really think it has good potential. Thanks

My Smoke Test

ESmokeEverywhere (post above) is really generating great traffic. I did some test campaigns and they really grabbed a lot of clicks and a better than average conversion.

I am going to admit now and to everyone that I commited the cardnial sin of affiliate advertising. I share this humbling moment in the hope that you will take heed.

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR LINK FUNCTIONS BEFORE YOU POST OR HIT SEND!

Yep, I sent out a campaign with bad links. Not all the links were bad but I had to change the landing page real fast. A woman from Mesa, Arizona emailed me and told me about the problem, whatta a Gal.

We are sending her a comp starter kit from Luci Brand.

Let this be a lesson learned. I've heard these stories and I did'nt follow very sage advice
Check Your Links!

Note and Hint. Notice the post date on the "eSmokeeverywhere" post. If you want to keep a post on the top "post date" it  in advance and your next posts will appear under it.

What is a Mini-Site?

I don't have any Mini Sites but after reading this article here I'm giving serious thought to the idea. This can be a great strategy for affiliate products that are worthy of a good single page landing. A mini website is a site which is devoted to selling one and only one product. Either software, an eBook, golf clubs or maybe just putters. I know you have probably seen these sites they are everywhere all over the internet. It's generally one big sales page (or two) and it's a excellent chance to presell your product or your affiliate product.

Mini Sites usually consist of a one page sales letter and a thank you page.

The sales letter is packed full of the information to tell your visitor and potential customer about all the benefits of the product or service you are offering them. This page is usually quite long as it is your one opportunity to sell your product. The sales page will have all the reasons your customer needs the product you are selling. It will also tell what the product does or how it is used with examples to emphasize the fact that your customer can't do without it. Sometimes there will be some testimonials from satisfied customers and some bonuses for a prompt purchase. At the end of the page, the customer will have the opportunity to purchase the product with a command for them to order now!

You should look at other similiarly configured pages to get the jist of how it is done. Actually go look at several different sites and look at those pages from a sellers point of view, you may have seen a thousand of them before but you have'nt looked at them from a sellers perspective. Some are very short and to the point and some, while just a page or two, are the longest pages in the history of the written word.

Once they have made their purchase, they are sent to the thank you page which has ( in the case of an eBook say) the download link for their purchase. It is important to add the download link for the purchased product in a very prominent place near the top of the page. No one wants to search for the item they have already paid for.

This thank you page should be considered a second sales page.

The great thing about this thank-you page is that you know the people reading it will buy from you. They already have! It has been proven that once a person buys something from you, they are more likely to buy more products from you if you keep offering a good product at a good price. So while you have them there, you will offer another product that compliments the already purchased product. You can string a series of related mini sites together and get several sales from the same person all at once. Don't miss this opportunity to get another sale. If you don't ask you don't get. I'm just sayin'.

Your thank you page is a good place for you to offer a free gift or a unannounced bonus. All the visitor has to do to get your freebie is fill out a form with their name and email address. Almost everyone will take you up on the free offer and you have just collected their information to send them even more offers.

The thank-you page is also a great place to add your Google AdSense or similar ads. After the customer has downloaded their purchased product, filled out the form for your free offer and looked at, and hopefully bought, the other offers you have available, they are still on your thank you page. Place your Google AdSense ads at the bottom of this page. The next logical choice for them is to click an Ad or close the window. Most people will click on an ad.

So you have your sale, their name and email address for future sales, possibly a second or third sale and a little extra cash from your content or affiliate Ads.

The beauty of this whole operation is you don't have to be present to make sales or ship goods. It is all done electronically. Once you get traffic to your mini site, it will do all the work for you. It will sell the product, collect the money, 'ship' the item, make your second sales pitch, and collect the customer information. You make 100% profit from the sale.

You check your email or Affiliate accounts every once in a while and find you have made some money!

Optimizing these mini sites for the search engines is a breeze. You only have one page to optimize. What could be easier?

PLUS... Nothing to join if your selling your product. If you don't have a product or service sign up for affiliate programs and set up the affiliate links and add your own pitch or review of the product.

So what do you need to get started?

You will need a domain name and hosting. You have to have somewhere to place these sites. This is a very minimal start up cost for your new business. You can get started for under $15 if shop for the best prices.

You can buy one domain name and host hundreds of mini sites using sub-domains. Make sure you hosting allows unlimited sub-domains.

Once you have your domain name and hosting set up, you can start uploading your mini sites. Set one up, optimize it, get another one and repeat. You can get several mini sites set up in a day and start seeing a profit real fast.

Where do you get these mini websites?
You can create your own ebooks or software and sell them or you can buy resell rights products. When you buy a product that offers resell rights, you now have the right to sell this product and keep all the profits. Just like if you made the product yourself.
Once you have your product, you only have to write the sales page and the thank you page and you are in business.

The beauty in these Mini WebSites is that you can set them up, optimize them and then just let them work for you. It's like having a whole staff of sales people working for your 24 hours a day and you don't even have to pay them.
I might try one brand of our E-Cigarettes a diet plan or maybe a Real Estate Foreclosure product. Click Here!
