What is a BackLink?

Backlinks are very important to any Blog or Web Site. They show other folks (and Bots) who has linked to your site with possible related information or products. This can create a link back to your site from others. Search Engines love linkbacks.

Backlinks enable you to keep track of other pages on the web that link to your posts. For instance, suppose you write a blog entry that I find interesting. I then go to my own blog and write a post of my own about that subject , linking back to your original post. Now your post will automatically show that I have linked to it, and it will provide a short snippet of my text and a link to my post. How it all shakes out is a way of expanding the comment feature so that related discussions on other sites can be included along with the regular comments on a post.

Provide linkbacks to anything you are referencing. It brings more visitors to your site from others.

Do I Need a Web Site to Make $$ on the Web?

No. You don't need a Web Site to make money on the Web.

Build a website, make some money, easy everyone says. Well it really is, but there are many proven ways to make money on the internet with or without a website.

I am often asked the question "how can I make money on the internet with a website?" but I'm almost never asked "can I make money on the Web without a web site?" Well it really is not difficult, it does requires time and effort on your part. If you are interested in making money on the World Wide Web you have a couple of options. Lets talk about one option and your looking at it. A BLOG. Much like a web Site, you can monetize it, you can customize it, you make it your own.

If you are looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, you won't find that type of information here, I have'nt found that path to easy cash and I have looked. You can however, make some cash with your blog. Making money on the Web requires you to invest a lot of money or a lot of time. I want to show folks how to do it with as little of both as possible.

I started this blog not too long ago so I could have a place to bitch about things I can rave about the things I think are pretty cool. You can start a blog in 30 minutes and you can do it for FREE. You can make money here too using much the same methods as any other types of sites. The only thing you really need to make money is traffic. Traffic makes the Web go-round. I've met other bloggers who don't care whearter anyone reads their stuff or not yhey just want to vent. I don't get it but I assume it keeps them from climbing a clock tower with a high powered rifle. If you have good content on your blog or site the search engines will spider you and maybe rank you on a page for individual posts or your general content. You will learn how to do this too.

Pick a Blog Platform:

This forum is Blogger.com It is really easy to build a blog and get 'ta bitching. I like this platform but I have had blogs elsewhere. There is WordPress and Typepad that I like or just Google "blog Platforms" and you'll get lists and comparisons. Name it whatever you want (as long as that name is'nt taken). You really should have a core subject that you want to convey, a hobby, or any other focus you have an interest in and some knowledge of.

RANT...RAVE...BRAG...WHATEVER...You Own It.

You can run off on any tangent you want...it's your blog. It is important that you post regularly. This does not mean that you have to post everyday, just try to do it on a regular basis whether its once a day, a week, or month. Use the spell checker, it never catches everything but it can help you look like you had grammer class and you were'nt absent that day.

The hardest part is getting started!

Now get to bloggin'. Monetize your blog with the advertisers you want and have fun, it really is... fun!

Work @ Home Jobs - Real Legitimate Jobs

HATE MY JOB!           I HATE MY BOSS
Well do something about it. You won't get rich at  these jobs but you can pay some bills.

Contrary to popular belief there are many legitimate work at home companies out there. So don’t believe the hype or get discouraged that there are no legit work from home jobs out there. The companies listed below tend to only hire mostly virtual workers. So be sure to apply to anything of interest to you. Please keep in mind with many of these companies there may be a waiting list, most post weather they are hiring or not (most were when I checked them). But you might as well get on the list, in some cases I'm told if you keep in touch with the employer by checking on the status of your App. etc. it demonstrates a continued interest on your part. Good Luck!

A word of caution: DaveLePorte and DBLGoSearch urge you to use caution when you are looking for opportunities on the Web.If you are asked to pay for information to work on-line it is at best a ruse to get your cash and at worst it is a scam. No one should charge you to work for them! If you shell out any of your hard earned money it should be for someone to work for you. For example, someone builds or helps you build your Web Sites or you use a company to drive traffic to your site. If they perform the service you pay for it, If you perform a service they pay for it. Period. In most (like 99.99%) don't pay for lists of anything. There are plenty of Work @ home sites for example that are legit, there are 100% more sites that will sell you the names of those sites not to mention the ones that are pure scams. You don't have to pay to find out who they are.

SubmitPlus.com Free Web Tools

I stumbled on a really helpful site for newbie Affiliate Marketers (that's me).
It seems stumbling is my most effective search tool sometimes.

Give Submit Plus.com a try. This was one of the most helpful Internet Marketing sites I have come across. Most of them are just trying to sell you something, SubmitPlus is trying to sell you something as well, they just have a better way of going about it. They enlighten you first.

They have several Web Tools that can be very enlightening regarding the functionality of our attempts at Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Load Time Check:
This App shows you how long it takes for you landing page to load at varying speeds.
Sure it loads up pretty quick for you, it's all cached up and cookied down.

Submit Says: "When trying to index your web pages, certain engines will time out at 30 seconds... Result... No indexing! Additionally, loading time over 24 seconds looses 40% of potential viewers due to impatience!"

Meta Tag Check:
If you don't keep a eye on your Meta Tags, Title Tags and descriptions, you have no idea how poorly they are performing.I know I didn't.

Submit Says:
"Yes!... Major engines still rely on good meta content for indexing, in particular your

Spider Simulator:
This App crawls your site just like a search engine spider, it will show you what the spiders see. This was so interesting, you really need to run this app.

Meta Tag Generator:
Here's a little pay-off. Enter your Title, Description and Keywords and this app generates a really good set of Tags that spiders can read and understand.

Alexa Rank Tool:
This is a bit depressing,at least it was for me. It's an accepted value for traffic count. Enter your URL and it gives your a ranking. The lower the number the better.

These are tools you can use to help not only to build your site but a great way to monitor your progress in SEO as well.
