Last week the bridge (voice & data) between my office and a remote location (where I spend most of my time) was hit by a bolt of lightening. This fried everything downstream of the rooftop antenna, I mean everything. I lost my desktop, Cisco switch, buss, surge protector, power injector, UPS, RF antenna and every inch of Cat-5 cable.
The Tech (Black Box) had me up and running Friday by 1:pm. Happy, Happy. Got in this morning… everything was back down. I got an E-mail from MIS (no IT, no DP no, Who are they this year?). Got an Email from the helpdesk…The Bridge is out. Turns out it was hit again at 9:30pm Friday night. What do they say about lightening? It was up 8 ½ hours, half of which I wasn’t around for. It was Friday…I’m out. I can catch up on Monday, right? Damn

Avoid scams and Cons
A word of caution: If you are asked to pay for information to work on-line it is at best a ruse to get your cash and at worst it is a scam. No one should charge you to work for them! If you shell out any of your hard earned money it should be for someone to work for you. For example, someone builds or helps you build your Web Sites or you use a company to drive traffic to your site. If they perform the service you pay for it, If you perform a service they pay for it. Period. In most (like 99.99%) don't pay for lists of anything. There are plenty of Work @ home sites for example that are legit, there are 100% more sites that will sell you the names of who they are not to mention the ones that are pure scams. You don't have to pay to find out who they are
